Hello all,

I found this in a clearing in the trees behind my house. It could have been left there by kids, but curious to know what type of snake you think it belongs to.

Please ignore the red marks on the paper tissue. Its blackberry season!!

Hi there
Thank you for your enquiry.
Sorry for the delay in responding due to me being away on holiday.
Unfortunately the photograph does not appear in the post - neither can I access it directly at https://attachment.outlook.live.net/

Regards
Chris

Thank you - that worked.

This is a tricky one (especially for me - I am primarily a lizard man. I thought it might be an adder given the absence of "bars" on the flanks, the shape,  and a suggestion of a dorsal pattern. But I see it is well in excess of a metre long which rules that out.
It might well be that it is some form of exotic species - an escaped pet
I will leave it to the snake experts on the forum to see if they can do better!

Regards
Chris
