ME first one yeaterday avo with resident red ears out on there normal basking log, with a glimpse of a grassie swimming nearbye in pic. keith

Hmm... wiping the lens first might have been a good idea.

There's at least 1 terrapin (species as yet unID'd but sounds like either a Red-ear or a Yellow-belly) in a lake in my area Keith. The local residents/fishermen have been reporting it to me for the last 2 years. I've searched a few times but i've not been lucky enough to see the critter yet. Although admittedly, i've not been there in perfect conds, the lake is large and less than half the 'shore' is public access.
Gonna keep trying tho!

A few years ago, 2 Red-ears were regularly observed along a stretch of the (disused but being redelevoped) Stroudwater Navigation Canal.
But they've not been seen since the Canals Trust dredged it.
