It was fantastic to meet Chris, Ray , Mike and everyone else today at the reintroduction site in Talacre , Nr Prestatyn North Wales.
Around 65 lizards were released , some from Chester Zoo and others from Ray Lynch and Paul Hudson . Paul couldn't make it today but Mike Brown was there to see that Pauls lizards got a good send off. After the release a few of us went over to Presthaven sands , where I am pleased to say we found 3 already established sand lizards. Edited by dave fixx - 10 Sep 2013 at 9:21pm |

great news, well done to all involved, Chris et al., - seemed to get lots of publicity in newspapers and TV, too (makes a nice change from adder-related scare stories...)

Thanks for posting the pics Dave. It was great to meet you personally at last.
The ITV story (brief as it is!) can be found at http://www.itv.com/news/wales/story/2013-09-10/rare-lizard-revival-planned-talacre-beach/#sand-lizards-reintroduced-to-talacre-beach_258022 Various links from there but they all seem to lead back to themselves!! All the best Chris |
