Hey,

last year I saw a Camberwell Beauty over EF and I followed it for about an hour hoping it would come below about forty feet but not once Cry

Ben I really like that pic of the two grassies, is that one pic or did you stitch two separate ones together? If its one, it's great that they stayed still for you like that, they're a great snake, true posers!

It's a Comma, named due to white comma shaped mark on underwing.

Don't forget to keep an eye out for the White-letter Hairstreak (in flight now), it is a surprisingly common species despite the fact that hardly anyone i know has seen one. It rarely comes down from the canopy of the Elm trees on which is spends it's entire life cycle. I have been known to pitch a ladder up the main stem of a Wych Elm to be amongst them (and Purple Hs on Oak!). A true peeping Tom i am.

Come December I'll try and post some photos of their eggs (which i search for then). It happens to be one of my hibernal hobbies. Well i had to do something.

Thanks for the pictures

Have to admit Ben my brother took the picture! He was surprised it was a reasonable one as there were a lot of grass stems in the way. Everyone's pix are great by the way!

Great pics all, hey Keith, do you think the Peacock is the hardest to photograph? I don't know why, but no matter how hard I concentrate the lens centre to the head, the camera focuses on the circles, happens so many times.
