Well I spent about an hour today wandering over a site without a sighting, then sat down for a picnic with Mervyn and Harvey where they had been waiting. 2 minutes into the picnic I realised we were being watched....
So I took a look around the adjacent area, within just a few minutes sightings amounted to 4 adults and 8 juveniles within a 10 yard square of where we were siting.. I think I'll use this as my standard survey technique from now on!
This is the same site that I mentioned the other day where the lizards were using tyres in preference to mats, same again today though the mats were warm this time. (I thought I had better add that on asking Mervyn if he'd seen any lizards around, he opened one eye and replied.. "what lizards") Edited by administrator |
