Found (or rather disturbed..oops) a female digging a nest/ egg tunnel yesterday around about 3pm in glorious sunshine. She initially lurked in nearby marram, but when i returned to site about 10 mins later she had abandoned part dug hole (which as ready filling with wind blown sand)

And today a gravid looking female in a different part of site (she obiviously likes this log as saw her shedding on it earlier in month.
I' ll attach a couple of piccys in certain knowledge Will or someone will eclipse them within hours!!

Oh and a website that be of interest to forum users is wunderground.com a weather site that can show PAST weather for a given location....

Well it turns out she did lay some eggs on that patch of sand. How do I know?
Well, sadly something (rabbit I guess) had partly dug the eggs out (which surprisingly were only about 3" 75mm deep). One egg was fully exposed to sun (though still plump and "pink") and could only see 2 others partly exposed in side of hole. To be on the safe side I covered the hole over with sand, but I assume even part of a day in the sun will have cooked them.

Be interesting to see if any do hatch.
