Took probably my last summer trip out to my spot just outside Wrexham on Tuesday morning. And what a morning it turned out to be! I had perhaps every season of weather that North Wales could throw at me - rain, fog, howling gale and blazing sunshine. Strangely it probably made for perfect adder spotting conditions.
In the space of a couple of hours I recorded 7 different adders. 5 were quite young - one was a gorgeous adult female who was too quick to photograph - and the other was an adult male that was in some heather that I stepped in! Enough to get the heart beating when he sprang out of cover and made a dash for it from between my feet!
Anyway here's a few pictures of some of the young ones I saw.
