Gazing at the pond today I couldn't help but notice that though the spawning attempts of the frogs this year hit new lows (One brief fumble by three of them on Valentines day, no spawn) the new pond seems to be a hit with the local red damselflys...

......at one point there were 6 couples flitting about, joined at the.......errmm...... head !!! Shocked

Still can't work out how to post pics on this site, so pics here.....http://plus.google.com/photos/115247778556127452254/albums/6151284891994927025?banner=pwa

David Bailey I'm not, but if you click on an individual pic you can zooooooom in!

Red damselflies are plentiful around my ponds too. Those and the blues and a very flimsy, almost colourless one, that is weak flying.I get dragonflies as well, but they don't hang around as much as the damselflies.
