I have a slow-worm residing in my compost bin (in West London), which I first saw on my garden path in 2008, then photographed in the bin in 2010, and this year it's there almost every time I open the bin. Having read a couple of explanations on how to tell the difference between the sexes I'm still not certain, which it is. Can anyone tell from the photos, please? (I was intending to name it Sloƫ or Slowy!).
Images (which I can't seem to upload) are at: http://www.pixum.co.uk/viewalbum/id/6243079

Hiya

Thanks for your post. I can see why you were unsure. Nevertheless, the very dark flanks suggest that this animal is a female - pretty plump as well so probably going to have babies in next month or so.

Many thanks.  I thought she might have been plump full of slugs!
