No matter how well you do the keys/photos on the ID pages some people will always have a fixed idea in their head on what an animal is - no matter what their eyes tell them. A few years ago John Newton had an absolutely typical grass snake (from his allotment) in a tank on his stand at the Sheffield show. Many people told him it was an adder so he referred them to the display of photos behind that showed what grass snakes & adders looked like and after looking at the pictures some still stuck to their view it was an adder!
Still hopefully if we can cut down the number of false ID's that will be good. |

Agee with you Chris most common liz are more often reported as la by holiday makers on the coast , and I think every adder sighting in this area always turns out to be a nat that has been decapitated by some brave defender of public safetey on their allotements.keith
