I found this grass snake dead under some plywood. It's freshly dead as it hasn't desicated yet. It's about the size that a hatchling should be, about 17cm. grass snakes shouldn't be hatching until autumn, so what is this? - is it just that last years young will not have grown much yet? Sorry about the image quality - my camera is rubbish! |

I have also found a number of baby Nn at a site near me around that size...but luckily alive and well, no doubt this weather has something to do with it

sorry, been away from the computer for a while. This snake was found in Kent. The snake is within an area fenced for reptile removal, so it is important that I work out if it is this years, as it's siblings and mother would therfore be within my site still. Hopefull the cold snap hasn't dealt with it's siblings. |
