This from South Wales Echo (28th Nov)
"WITH reference to recent readers' letters concerning the late appearance of butterflies in their gardens (Echo), well I think I can beat that. While clearing some pond weed from my garden pond, I was astonished to find several large tadpoles happily still swimming around in the pond (this was on Monday, November 20). Have any other readers come across this in their ponds? C Hayes, Lavriston Park, Caerau, Cardiff" |

The tadpoles are overwintering as they havent metamorphosed in time - it is possible that they haven't do so for a variety of reasons and so may actually change into frogs next year.... Jon |
