Yeah heard about this at the South East Regional Meeting today - which was an excellent meeting by the way -

The amount of money spent was approx 6% of the project costs and given that contractors cost the HA huge amounts of money this is not surprising - maybe the cost is something to do with a particular product now used in this sort of project that has put the price right up.....

 

15 miles of newt exclusion fencing blimey someone was making a packet! - would have been better spent on significant habitat creation - there must have been hundreds of ponds along that route which needs work -

Did anyone see Gardeners World last night - apparently they had to stop works on their pond because of cresties
