Hi there,
I acquired a few acres of semi-ancient natural wood land in a Deepest darkest Devon,
was clearing some big old oak branches and spotted a small light green frog (the size of my thumb). After a quick google it looks like a European tree frog (had a stripe by its eye).
That was a couple of years ago and have not see one since.
I would love to see another (and this time take a photo) but not sure where when to look for them

Hi
Basically any time outside the hibernation season. This is obviously weather dependent but would typically be around March to October.
Even then, very difficult to see. IF they are present (and it is a big if - I am not aware of any records min Devon) then the most obvious signs of presence would be the males calling - most commonly early evening on warm wet evenings. And their call is very lous - recordings can easily be found on the internet..

Thanks for the response, I'm 99% sure it was a tree frog, was the size of my thumb and bright green, with an eye stripe, was a few years back when it was a very wet summer.
But typically have not seen once since, assuming i find another, what should i do next?

Once identification is certain (preferably with a photo) report at http://alienencounters.narrs.org.uk/
