Slow-worms rarely get ticks because their skin lacks places where ticks can get a grip between the scales. Hard to guess what else could be the cause. Do you have any photos?

hi can anyone help we have a slow worms living in our garden and we are very happy to have them ! they love the compost bin and noticed today that 1 had a lump on its tail after closer inspection it looked like tics ?? is there anything i can do to help them ?? i tried to brush them off but didnt budge and didnt want to scare the slow worms either any advice would be appreciated thanks xx
