Well quick look out on the road side embankment at Great Cornard Sudbury this morning turns a bit of flat board and what I though was a big black millipede my surprise a complete black melanistic young sloworm. This is amazing seeing I caught a albino one years ago all I need is a aboriginal rainbow coloured slowie to complete the set. This was completely black with no other colour the only light bit is the flash reflection Keith

Despite my myriad garden slow worms, I'm hugely jealous of you finding that! I've never seen a melanistic one. Well done!

Thank all its returned to its habitat area within a about a hour after showing to another local herpo and diligent active conservationist worker George Millings ...and Suzy I should have posted it to your slowie farm for selective breeding keith
