I've seen one Grassie, but it was the briefest of glimpses. It still feels cold though, without the sun the wind is bl** y freezing, probably keeping them inside in Essex.

another one from today - a weasel appeared momentarily and had a look from the hedge behind the snakes, but decided not to attack!

Great stuff Will Thumbs Up

Things were running about all of the place in the wildlife garden by 09:15 this morning! I keep forgetting we are still only in mid-March.

I see it was five weeks later that I started 'Balls 2013' - my first grass snakes of the year and they were all mating including three balls of 2-3 males and the female.  Never ceases to amaze me how they can come straight out of winter torpor and get into gear so quickly, stealing a march on the adders!

Poor quality as I only had the macro and wasn't expecting mating snakes out on the path ahead of me...
