Hi all,
I have deliberately waited until my 1000th post to say that, not just in the light of recent events over my patch, but, I'm going to take a back seat now and leave the regular contributions to other devotees.
I'll still pop back now and again, like Al Hyde, Vicar, etc, but until I find another productive patch I'm sort of semi retiring.
I hope, even though I haven't seen eye to eye with everyone on all things that you generally think my contributions have been worthwhile, and I wish you all happy hunting.
See you soon, perhaps.

you got there right before me Suz! im gutted. like other ill really miss your specialist/experienced input Rob. youve informed this (relative) dunce no end and (in this punters opinion) regularly posted in an accessible and humorous format that helps win readers over to our (ie the herps) side. posting helps stimulate interest and connects people to herps, like a site-bridging wildlife corridor. or something! eg i didnt bother recording herps before i joined the site and now im obsessive about it! part of that is down to the "regulars" like you. so thanks for taking the time to share. and if youre ever in Glos and want to see a few local Grassie sites.... best wishes for the future mate, ben |

Good luck with "another productive patch " Rob. Try to pop back now and again at least. You have been (and still can be) a great asset to our little community. Chris |

Rob, you can't leave us on a low with 'Rushy Planed'! come back with some good news - I'm sure you will. 1000 posts means you should be elevated to the rauk peerage, anyway!

Sorry to hear you feel that way Rob, but I do understand. I've been sort of semi-retired for some time now, rarely visiting old haunts and less enthusiastic about the whole thing in general to be honest thanks to these kind of events.
Don't become too distant though, plenty of us feel the same.

well its your call rob and i haven't yet been through an experience like yours so can't say how i'd react but in my opinion the last thing we need is to lose another such experienced and knowledgeable forum member. i've benefitted enormously from your contributions over the years and you'll be missed.
hope you change your mind take care tim
