I was cleaning the garden pond today, I was aware I had GCN in the pond,
but only ever seen young ones. I have in the past rescued babies by bringing them into the shed, in a tank until they are almost ready to leave the water. I have an incredible amount of dragonfly larvae in the said pond and few tadpoles and young newts seem to survive you see. Anyways I found an adult today whilst cleaning, saw at least one other that slipped away. If this is one of the ones I returned to the pond in late 2007, its grown well to date! there are a lot of smooth and palmate in the pond so this one probably ate his way to this size quickly. |
