Two Tailed Lizard

I've seen lizards with two tails before where they have partially shed the original tail and the new growth makes a second, this one looks different though, like it has two original tails.





Anyone seen this before?

that's very interesting - both tails have the look of originals rather than the cruder cartilaginous replacement, and both originate from the base of the tail. Amazing that the two tails have not hampered it and allowed its survival this long! you don't live near any nuclear power stations, do you...?

...sure you can, Tim - me too! my favourite April Fool this year was Copenhagen Zoo which claimed to have euthanased four ageing keepers and fed them to the lions after all the fuss with Marius the giraffe and the male lion and his two cubs. Nice sense of humour guys!

well Gemma, I was trying to restore some credibility by finding a two-tailed lizard, but all I could find today was what seems to be a two headed adder Wink !
