Sorry - I don't know why the same one has come out each time.

The hands you can see belong to one of the rangers. She had a licence. We saw about twenty and heard many more calling. This was in Cumbria; I hear that some of the Lancashire colonies haven't bred this year because all the ponds were dry.

Can anyone yet again give instructions for posting pictures here? Sorry for my lack of know-how.

Richard

Hi Richard

The reason all the pictures came out the same is that the whole list of picture addresses actually point to a single URL. Did you perhaps try and insert them all at once instead of one at a time?

Hopefully they are all OK below now

Chris

Great stuff Richard; hopefully the natterjacks will be able to make use of recent rains which have filled the previously dry slacks.

Actually Keith the "Euro buffs" seem to be thinking these should stay in the genus Bufo, it was an American who decided they should be Epidalea....Wink

I can reassure you that the toads shown here conform to European standards as defined by the Natterjack Harmonisation Treaty of 1993, and are within the quota allocated to the UK under the Natterjack Convergence Directive instigated in 1997.
