Hi everyone

Well, the first thing I must do is apologise for the problems. I must stress, however, that these were due to an external attack - although why someone should want to attack us I have no idea.

You can get some idea of what happened if you read previous posts in the forum and the progress reports on the http://www.herpetofauna.co.uk/default.asp - home page .

Anyway, we are now up and running, with a new server, new software and a new database which should, hopefully, make such problems much less likely to occur.

You will note some minor design changes. Mainly I have moved the menu to the top of the page as we are getting quite a few largeish photographs and I for one was getting really bored with having to scroll sideways!!

So, WELCOME BACK, I hope you continue to enjoy the forums.

Chris

Sure am. Though whilst the forum’s been down I haven’t been able to blabber about all my toading activities and now toading season is over. Had to bore everyone on facebook and twitter about toady stuff instead.

Are we missing some regulars since the forum troubles?

Note heard from Steve (Vicar) or Jon (Herpetologic) for a while?

Hi Guys, just to let you know I think I was one of the unfortunate few who had their lgo-in detail lost during the transition. Can't seem to find any of my posts either..!

However, now re-registered and hopefully we'll get back up to speed soon.

Well done for undertaking what must have been a mammoth task.

Brett

Hi Brett

Welcome back. Sorry you had the kerfuffle to get back in. (and, as a "new" member, you had to wait for your post to be approved!!). I should be able to restore your status and I am investigating ways in which I can reinstate historical postings from our "lost" members - but that will take time.

Look forward to some of your always interesting contributions.

All the best

Chris

Further to Gemma's question regarding the absence of Vicar at least, I've had an electronic chat with him and basically he's just too busy with SARG related issues, not too mention loadsa work with the day job. He WILL be back!
